2012 Greek Classics Challenge

Since I’m planning on increasing the amount of classic literature I read, this challenge hosted at Howling Frog Books sounds about right. I plan to participate at the Sophocles level (read 1 to 4 books) and hope that I actually read more than that.

These are the books that I plan to read:

1. The Iliad, by Homer.  I read this in high school but never in poetry form.  So I plan to read this in poetry form this year.
2. The Odyssey, by Homer.  Same as The Iliad, I intend to read this in poetry form.
3. Histories, by Herodotus.
4. History of the Peleponnesian War, by Thucydides.
