I read this book as part of March Mystery Madness hosted over at Reading Thru The Night.

I really enjoyed this one and this being my very first Agatha Christie.
I have tried to read this twice before but have always somehow stopped. This time, I was able to finish it.
The focus of this story is the murder of Colonel Protheroe at the Vicarage. Since he was a man not loved by many, it was hard to pinpoint his exact killer. Especially since the only evidence left was a note and an overturned clock.
Murder at the Vicarage is told from the point of view of the vicar, Len Clement. The story takes place in St. Mary’s Mead where everyone knows everyone and where everyone takes an interest in everyone else’s business.
In this story, we also get to meet the very knowledgeable Miss Marple, an old lady who seems to love observing all those around her. She even goes as far as coming up with seven people who might have killed the colonel.
This is an interesting work of detective fiction where we don’t read about the detectives doing the work but normal everyday people like the vicar and especially Miss Marple.
