I’m ashamed to admit that I have not read a lot of Dickens. In fact, I think I have only read one novel of his EVER and that was way back in high school. It wasn’t a reading assignment but it was just out of curiosity because I found out that Ethan Hawke (who I had a teeny tiny crush on when I was younger) was starring in a movie that was supposedly an adaptation of the novel. I found the book at a second hand bookstore and the price was just right for a student on a budget.
I am more ashamed to say that I could not recall one thing about the book! When I read that The Guardian was doing a series of posts in celebration of Dickens’ 200th birthday, I decided to do something as well. My plan was to read a couple of books written by Dickens before his birthday on February 7, read the posts on The Guardian, and read a biography on Dickens (I’m really interested in the book written by Claire Tomalin).
I also intend to participate in this challenge to share things about Dickens and also to read what the others will share.
